0.75a in English

Finally after a lot of demand I decided to kick my butt out and do the English version of the mod... Two Day Later: SgMod 0.75a in English came. Enjoy!

The download was taken out some time ago for reasons I can't remember. You'll have to be patient if you want an English version -- 0.8 will be a complete French/English release, but it's still in relatively early development from what I can see.

*sigh* i hope 08 is coming soon i REALLY wanna try it, i randomly downloaded homeworld 2 cause i was bored and had'nt played in it forever and i didnt know there was mods and i LOVE stargate....plus more then just the regular 2 races! cmon! thats freakin awsome now im dissappointed

Well, the french 0.8x beta (with ai at some computers) needs a lot of work before they can release it. But it will be great and much better than the 0.75a. It's playable in french but I'd prefer them to develope it in english first. But I think some of there main developers don't speak english :-/
Oh and they had some nice ideas, nevertheless it seems again unbalanced between some races.
I hope they have already fixed the docking paths

Actually, only one of the main developer speaks english, I believe, and even then it's probably not very advanced english either. Piper speaks english too, but she's more in charge of public relations and the campaign than actual coding. She and I are the only two persons who ever visit the english forums. Overall, the game has to be translated, making it directly in english is not an option.

However, since the text is soon going to be using string dictionaries instead of hardcoded text, translation won't be much of a problem for the next release (at least, hopefully). The file that you will download will be the same both for French and English users, and should automatically attempt to use the language you normally play Homeworld2 in. Even the voice-overs, once the campaign is released with voice acting, should automatically be in the language your game is (unless they're missing).

Yes I was surprised that you didn't do it like this in 0.75a...
